Are you shitting me? There's so many loopholes to our tax system... Also, if you get rid of income tax, then you're even more screwed in terms of having an empty treasury. Yes, rich people invest and pump capital but really, what benefit do they bring to society except providing role models for other people to strive for? Chances are, you'll never be rich, yet why do you defend the system that has made them so rich so ardently? It's because you think that you can one day become rich too.

I don't get the purpose of a flat tax... 1% of the nation controls 99% of the wealth (and are great at avoiding taxes), if everyone is paying the same tax, where the hell is the government gonna get money to foot the bill? I think people need to realize that being left with 40% of $1,000,000 is still f*cking 400 grand... I don't buy into all this "but it's being invested" bullshit. In many cases it's being used to speculate/otherwise perpetuate wealth in ways that have very little benefit to society as a whole. As inefficient as government is, at least it's accountable to the people. Privatized medicine is getting ridiculously out of hand. Why the hell are there commercials for medicine?!?!?! If I need a medication, my doctor will let me know.
